Temple Digital Group Executes First Live Onchain US Treasury Repo Transaction Utilizing the DTCC Tokenization Service

Temple Digital Group, the leading exchange on the Canton Network, announced earlier this month the completion of a tokenized US Treasury repo transaction utilizing the DTCC Tokenization Service. A tokenized representation of a US Treasury security was financed against tokenized cash (Circle's USDCx) through Temple's RFQ platform and settled on the Canton Network, while the underlying security remained within DTC's existing book-entry framework.
The transaction was conducted utilizing the DTCC Tokenization Service, which covers eligible DTC-held assets including Russell 1000 equities, major ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries. DTCC held a limited production event in July 2026 ahead of a planned commercial launch later this year, with DTC-held securities represented on-chain while retaining the legal ownership and protections of the underlying instrument.
The repo was arranged through Temple's institutional RFQ platform, which routed the request and returned quotes between the two counterparties. DRW and HIFI traded as principals, financing the tokenized Treasury against tokenized cash for the term of the intraday repo. Marex, a member of DTCC and FICC, served as prime broker and settlement agent.
Settlement was atomic and onchain between the counterparties' wallets, providing delivery-versus-payment in real time while legal ownership of the underlying Treasury security continued to be reflected through DTC's existing book-entry framework.
A historic transaction for Repo Markets
Repo is how the world's most important collateral gets financed: overnight Treasury repo alone turns over more than $3 trillion a day and is the plumbing of short-term funding markets. As the industry works toward the SEC's Treasury Clearing mandate, moving that activity onto tokenized infrastructure, with atomic settlement and the underlying security continuing to be reflected through DTC's existing book-entry framework, points toward the future of funding markets. This transaction financed a tokenized US Treasury, minted via the DTCC Tokenization Service, against tokenized cash intraday, with the repo opening and closing in real time rather than over a standard settlement cycle, arranged through Temple's RFQ platform and settled on the Canton Network.
- First on the Global Synchronizer. Temple is the first exchange venue to facilitate a tokenized US Treasury repo transaction utilizing the DTCC Tokenization Service on the Canton Network's Global Synchronizer, where Temple operates as a featured application and generates over 50% of all Canton network transactions.
- Interoperability across systems. Assets traded on Temple are natively composable with the broader Canton Network — the same tokenized Treasury that settles a spot trade can serve as collateral, margin, or a repo leg elsewhere on the network.
- Privacy by design, Canton's architecture preserves transaction confidentiality between counterparties while retaining the auditability regulators expect.
- Always on. Temple's venue operates continuously. Tokenized Treasuries can trade and settle outside traditional market hours, converting the world's highest-quality asset into collateral 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
With the successful execution of this month's tokenized US Treasury repo transaction, Temple's focus turns to extending the Treasury workstream from spot to repo and intraday financing, and carrying the same execution and settlement architecture from tokenizedTreasuries to tokenized securities in preparation for the expected October 2026 launch of the DTCC Tokenization Service.
