Temple Digital Group and Ember Protocol Partner to Launch eXAU Gold and eXAG Silver Spot Markets

Temple Digital Group today announced the listing of physically backed eXAU Gold and eXAG Silver issued by Ember Protocol. The listings offer the first true price discovery mechanism for commodity markets on the Canton Network.
Temple commodities serve funds, trading desks, and treasurers who require privacy and direct ownership of the underlying asset rather than synthetic exposure to price.
About the Assets
Gold and silver are among the deepest markets in the world, yet remain hampered by legacy market technologies. Bringing bullion onchain removes traditional constraints and offers access to commodities markets that are private, 24/7, and settled alongside a growing network of tokenized assets such as equities and treasuries.
eXAU and eXAG are issued by Ember Protocol and operated in partnership with a leading financial services platform with over $5B in AUM. Ember Protocol works with its partners to provide issuance, custody, legal structuring, and redemption for the protocol.
Asset quality. Each token represents one troy ounce of LBMA Good Delivery bullion. 99.99% fine gold for eXAU and 99.9% fine silver for eXAG. Reserves are fully allocated with no synthetic or unallocated exposure.
Legal structure. Metal is held in a bankruptcy-remote structure, segregated from operating entities, with token holders maintaining a direct interest in allocated metal.
Custody and operations. Bullion is custodied in LBMA-approved professional vaults, with a controlled mint and redemption process and continuous reconciliation of token supply against vaulted reserves.
Transparency. Reserves are subject to independent verification, with onchain supply visibility and independent oversight of governance actions.
Security. Ember Protocol infrastructure has undergone six external audits across its codebase, conducted by OtterSec and Asymptotic, with core protocol invariants formally verified. Protocol operations are governed by multisig controls, 24-hour timelocks on every privileged action, contract-level bounds on permissioned operators, and an independent guardian pause. Independent reserve attestations, a proof-of-reserves dashboard, and legal opinions will be available in H2 2026.
